Mildred Kohl

Hastings resident, Mildred C. Kohl, 91, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Haven Home, Kenesaw, Nebraska where she had been a patient for two weeks.

Services will be held Thursday, May 24, 2012; 10:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church, Hastings with Pastor Tony Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Blue Valley Cemetery, Ayr, Nebraska. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 23, 2012; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present from 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to Hastings Public Library or First United Methodist Church of Hastings in Mrs. Kohl's name. These may be sent to 205 East 42nd Street, Hastings, Nebraska 68901.

Mildred, the daughter of Henry J. & Katherine (Sime) Busboom, was born on May 12, 1921 in Hastings. She married Jean Kohl on December 14, 1942 in Corvallis, Oregon; he preceded her in death on May 28, 1999. She was a member of many clubs and organizations over the years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and was an avid reader.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jean Kohl; sisters, Dee Van Houten and Betty Lou Kohl; and brother, Mel Busboom.
