Mildred Kahman

Edgar resident, Mildred Kahman, 94, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Rose Brooke Care Center in Edgar, Nebraska.

Services will be Tuesday, August 25, 2009; 10:00 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Glenvil with Pastor Renee Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Fairfield Cemetery, Fairfield, Nebraska. Visitation will be Sunday, August 23, 2009; 3:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., Monday, August 24, 2009; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. at Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center, and 1 hour prior to service at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Memorials may be given to the Memorial Fund at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Glenvil, Nebraska.

Mildred was born north of Fairfield and spent most of her life in the Fairfield area. She and Rolland farmed in the area most of their married life. After Rolland passed away in 2000 Mildred moved to The Kensington in Hastings and lived there for 7 years. She moved to The Rose Brooke Care Facility in Edgar in March of 2007. Mildred has been a long time member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil, Nebraska. Mildred loved working in the field with Rolland and loved spending time with their grandchildren. The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness and love that was shown to their mother. She will be missed.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Rolland Kahman; brothers, Bill Wakelin and Robert Wakelin; sisters, Geraldine Steiger and Rogene Kieswetter; and her parents.
