Milo F. Kocourek Jr.

Hastings resident Milo F. Kocourek Jr., 78, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at The Kensington, Hastings, NE. 

Memorial Services with military rites by Hastings Military Honor Guard will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 31, at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. There will be no burial held at this time. There will be no viewing or visitation. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Milo was born May 11, 1946, in Omaha, NE to Milo Sr. and Helen (Mucha) Kocourek. He graduated from Omaha South High School in 1964 and took college courses in Omaha. Milo served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from January 17, 1966 to January 5, 1968. He married Joyce Claus on November 22, 1969, in Omaha, NE; she preceded him in death on June 7, 2022. 

Milo purchased ACME Printing in 1978, he owned and operated this business until he sold it in 2017. He was a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Kiwanis, NRA, Hastings Crime Prevention, Shriners, and the Hastings Chamber of Commerce. 

Milo was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Joyce Kocourek.
