Myrtle Eltz

Assumption resident, Myrtle Elnora Eltz, 89, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at her home.

Rosary will be Saturday, September 22, 2012; 10:00 A.M. and Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, September 22, 2012; 10:30 A.M. at Assumption Catholic Church, Assumption, Nebraska with Father Thomas S. Brouillette officiating. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Assumption, Nebraska. Visitation will be Friday, September 21, 2012; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to rosary at the church. Memorials may be given to Heartland Pet Connection or Start Over Rover.

Mrs. Eltz was born January 11, 1923 to Henry Gimpel, Jr. and Laura Bessie (Howard) Gimpel in Aurora, Nebraska. She graduated from Giltner High School. She lived on the family farm by Giltner until moving to Grand Island to work. On May 2, 1957 she married Herbert Henry Eltz; he preceded her in death on January 17, 2003. She loved animals, her cat Jelly Bean was always on her lap, she would always laugh that she couldn't get anything done until the cat got down.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert Henry Eltz; and one sister, Fern Stuhr.
