Nancy Hahne

Hastings resident, Nancy Hahne, 74, passed away Monday, June 8, 2009 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa.

Memorial services will be Friday, June 26, 2009; 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Alan Davis officiating. Private family interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church or Mercy Hospice in Nancy's name.

Nancy was born December 30, 1934 the daughter of Arnold and Roberta Stumbaugh in Gothenburg, Nebraska. She attended Hastings Public Schools graduating from Hastings High School in 1953. Nancy then attended Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri and later joined United Airlines as a flight attendant in 1956. Following her years as a mother and homemaker, Nancy attended and received her degree from Hastings College. She then taught 5th and 6th grade students for many years at District 15 Elementary School. Students have contacted Nancy often during her retirement years which has meant a great deal to her. Nancy and her husband the late Gary Hahne made their home in Hastings on North Shore Drive. They loved to travel and visit relatives during retirement.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
