Nancy Mahoney

Hastings resident, Nancy K. Mahoney, 58, of 1134 N. Denver, died Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Rosary will be Friday, November 18, 2005; 7:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, November 19, 2005; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church with Father Larry Gyhra officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, both in Hastings, Nebraska.

Ms. Mahoney was born June 11, 1947 in Montclair, New Jersey to Kenneth & Mary Lou (Anderson) Mahoney. She graduated from Hastings St. Cecilia High School in 1965 and received her Bachelors of Arts in Education from Hastings College. She taught school at St. Mary's Elementary in Omaha, St. Michael's Elementary in Hastings and was presently employed at District 15 in Hastings as a first grader teacher. She was active in the National and State Education Association, Southern Hills Golf Course, Does and Y.W.C.A. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church and Altar Society. She loved teaching and devoted her life to spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Ms. Mahoney was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Patricia Burke.
