Nancy Strom

Hastings resident Nancy E. Strom, 74, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018, at Premier Estates in Kenesaw, NE.

Graveside service is 1 p.m Tuesday, June 12, at Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorial Service will follow at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, at First United Methodist Church in Hastings with Pastor Greg Lindenberger officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Book signing will be Saturday, June 9; 9am-5pm & Monday, June 11; 9am-5pm. at the funeral home.

Nancy was born July 30, 1943, to Emil & Marguerite (Holroyd) Duffek in Lincoln, NE. She graduated from Lincoln High in 1961 and attended UNL and Nebraska Wesleyan. She married Lonnie Strom on May 3, 1974, in Lincoln; he preceded her in death October 24, 1984.

Nancy was the office manager for First United Methodist Church for nearly 20 years before retiring. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Nancy was also a member of First United Methodist Women, PTO, YWCA and pitch card club. Nancy was very active within First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, entertaining, watching Jeopardy and the KC Royals, playing cards, and most of all spending time with family and friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Harold Duffek.
