Naomi Schroeder

Former Hastings resident, Naomi Elizabeth Schroeder, 99, died Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at her daughter's home in Fresno, California.

Services will be Friday, November 14, 2008; 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Rev. Melvin Luetchens and Rev. Earl Higgins officiating. Viewing will be Friday, November 14, 2008; 10:00 A.M. at the church. Burial will be in Clay Center Cemetery, Clay Center, Nebraska at 2:30 P.M. on November 14, 2008. Memorials may be given to First United Methodist - U. M. W. at Hastings or the Redbird Mission in Kentucky.

Naomi was born July 14, 1909, in Bremen, Indiana to Rev. George S. & Emma J. (Arensman) Lozier. She graduated from North Central College in Illinois. She taught school at Redbird Mission in Kentucky. On October 2, 1937 she married Rev. Frank E. Schroeder in Decatur, Indiana and he preceded her in death on November 1, 1999. They moved to Hastings in 1977 where Frank was pastor at First United Methodist Church. She worked as a secretary where her husband was the pastor, was a homemaker, did volunteer work and taught public school. After retirement they settled at the Good Samaritan Village in Hastings.

Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, husband, twin infant sons, David Eugene and Donald Allen Schroeder, and one sister, Ruth Holycross.
