Neva Walker

Hastings resident, Neva E. Walker, 82, passed away Monday, May 7, 2012 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be held Thursday, May 10, 2012; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Dale Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 8, 2012; 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 9, 2012; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family 7 P.M.- 9 P.M., and one hour prior to service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to AseraCare Hospice or Ayr Rural Volunteer Fire Department.

Neva was born January 19, 1930 in Ayr, Nebraska to William E. & Gladys A. (Philleo) Gerloff. She attended Ayr High School. Neva married Harlan R."Bud" Walker on September 1, 1948 in Hastings; he preceded her in death on September 14, 1985. She managed OK Café until 1986 then she was the kitchen manager at Sunnyside until she retired. Neva was a member of First United Methodist Church. Her greatest joy was sharing a story and a laugh with her family and friends. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Neva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harlan R. "Bud" Walker; daughter, Penny Walker Goings; grandson, Brad Cronk; son-in-law, Fred J. Arntt; and two sisters.
