Nita Janssen

Hastings resident, Nita Lucille Imler Janssen, 74, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Monday, May 17, 2010; 10:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Rob Thornton officiating. Burial will be Monday, May 17, 2010; 2:30 P.M. in White Rock Cemetery, White Rock, Kansas. Visitation will be Saturday, May 15, 2010; 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., Sunday, May 16, 2010; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., and 1 hour prior to service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family; a memorial will be established at a later date.

Nita was born August 16, 1935 in Republic County, Kansas to Earl & Effie (Osborne) Imler. She was the youngest of 10 children, and after the death of her mother on November 3, 1935, she was raised by her father, grandparents, sisters and brothers. She grew up to a young adult in Kansas, finishing the first two years of high school in Lovewell, Kansas at the Sinclair District High School. In September, 1951, the family moved to Juniata, Nebraska where she finished high school and lived most of her life. Nita accepted Jesus Christ into her heart in April of 1951, and enjoyed singing His praise and sharing His love with others. On November 7, 1954, Nita was united in marriage to Stanley Dudley and to this union three sons were born. The marriage was dissolved and on September 1982 she was married to John Janssen. They made their home in Juniata at 1008 N. Bowen Avenue. John died on March 13, 1992. The Lord called Nita home on May 13, 2010. Nita was a member of the Grace Baptist Church of Hastings, and enjoyed signing with others for special music.

Nita was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and five brothers.
