Former Assumption resident, Norma J. Konen, 87, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.
Rosary will be Tuesday, March 6, 2012; 7:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 7, 2012; 10:00 A.M. at Assumption Catholic Church, Roseland, Nebraska with Father Joseph M. Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Roseland, Nebraska. There will be no visitation as Norma wished to be cremated. Memorials may be given to the Children's Ark.
Norma was born June 20, 1924 in Gordon, Nebraska to Orville & Elsie (Soverign) Roach. She married Floyd Revell on October 11, 1940; he preceded her in death in 1943. She married James P. Konen on September 3, 1946; he preceded her in death on June 10, 2001. Norma was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Hastings. She volunteered at Good Samaritan, Senior Services, and she especially enjoyed rocking babies at the Children's Ark. She also loved gardening, working with puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gary Revell; and four sisters.
