Orrin Starr

April 29, 1912 — December 3, 2005

Hastings resident, Orrin V. Starr,93, of Perkins Pavilion, died Saturday, December 3, 2005 at Perkins Pavilion.

Services will be Wednesday, December 7, 2005; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Pastor Tim Semotan officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Mr. Starr was born April 29, 1912, to Orran M. & Effe Bell (Miller) Starr, on a farm in Hamilton County between Trumbull and Aurora, Nebraska. He graduated from Glenvil High School, Glenvil, Nebraska. He married Maimee Wood in 1933 and they later divorced. He worked as a switchman for the Union Pacific Railroad. In 1951, he married Lillian (Battan) Kendall and she preceded him in death on November 23, 1998. He was a life long area resident and a member of First Baptist Church, Trainsmen Association and a Golden Age Eagle member, where he was a past president.

Mr. Starr was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister, one daughter, one grandson, one great granddaughter and a great-great granddaughter.
