Oscar O. Doering, 89, of 102 Ringland Rd., died Thursday, February 15, 2001 at Haven Home, Kenesaw, Nebraska.
Services will be Monday, February 19, 2001; 11:00 A.M. at The Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd with Pastor John L. Ross officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
Oscar O. Doering was born October 25, 1911 in Thayer County near Ruskin, Nebraska to John & Sophie ( Schlamann) Doering. He attended school at District #92. He served in the United States Army during WWII from 1942-1945 and was stationed at the Aleutian Islands in 1943. After his discharge, he farmed near Deshler, Davenport and Edgar, Nebraska until 1973. On February 12, 1956, he married Edna Kolling at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, near Deshler. They moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 1973 where he managed Adams County Grain & Feed Company, retiring in 1983. He was a member of The Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd, Men's Prayer Breakfast, V.F.W Post #10562 and Juniata Legion Club Post #365. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and delivering Meals on Wheels.
Oscar O. Doering was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers; Heinrich, Henry, William, Adolph, August, Louis and Leonard, 3 sisters; Maggie Steinman, Olga Marquart and Hannah Schleufer.
