Patricia Reed

Hastings resident, Patricia L. (Keeley) Boner Reed, 66, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013 with family at her side after a 22 year battle with cancer at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Friday, August 16, 2013; 7:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings. Celebration of Life and Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 17, 2013; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Hastings with Father Joseph M. Walsh officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be given to the family for future designation to be made in Patricia's name or the donor's choice. There will be a book signing Thursday, August 15, 2013; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M., Friday, August 16, 2013; 9:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to service at the church.

Patricia and her sister, Linda, were adopted and raised in Valentine by their parents Eugene & Francis Keeley. Patricia graduated in 1965 from Notre Dame Academy and Convent in Omaha and attended Duschesne College of The Sacred Heart in 1966. In 1967 she married and later divorced James Boner, and from this marriage two children, Eugene P. Boner and Maureen F. Boner were born. Patricia lived in many communities during her life and her love of music always followed her. She was active in many professional choirs and she passed her love of music on to her children. During her lengthy battles with cancer she was very active with The Adams County Relay for Life and inspired so many others who were fighting their own battles with cancer.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents.
