Paul Hinrichs

Hastings resident, Paul Henry Hinrichs, 91, of Perkins Pavilion, died Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Perkins Pavilion.

The services will be Tuesday, March 3, 2009; 9:30 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Rev. Harold D. Stromer officiating. The burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Churchyard Cemetery, west of Glenvil, Nebraska. Visitation will be Saturday, February 28, 2009; 6:00 P.M.- 9:00 P.M., Sunday, March 1, 2009; 1:00 P.M.- 9:00 P.M., Monday, March 2, 2009; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home and Tuesday, March 3, 2009; 1 hr. prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to First St. Paul's Lutheran Church Radio Broadcast Ministry or St. Paul Lutheran Churchyard Cemetery, west of Glenvil.

Mr. Hinrichs was born September 12, 1917 to Rentius & Sophia (Stamer) Hinrichs in Hastings, Nebraska. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1936. He served in the United States Army during WWII from March 3, 1943 until March 1, 1946. On August 8, 1943, he married Donna Kathryn Fitzke at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Glenvil. He was the manager of the warehouse for Clarke Oil Company for 50 years and also farmed. He was lifelong area resident and a lifelong member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church where he taught Sunday school and was a church council member; and a member of the Elks, both in Hastings.

Mr. Hinrichs was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Douglas; son, Fred Hinrichs in 1997; granddaughter, Season Hinrichs and siblings, Edward Hinrichs, Hilda Burke, Irma Hunt and Alice Gordon.
