Hastings resident, Paul J. "Jack" Largent, 92, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Good Samaritan Village.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. No viewing or visitation as Jack's wishes were to be cremated. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Good Samaritan Village.
Jack was born to Frank and Allie (Dean) Largent in Gage, Oklahoma on September 15, 1922. In 1929 the family moved to Hastings, Iowa, where Jack graduated from high school. He married Dorothy Elaine Haines on March 3, 1944. Five children completed their family. After serving 3 years in the Army Air Force from March 13, 1943 to March 28, 1946, he owned and operated grocery stores in Emerson and Hastings, Iowa. In 1968 the family moved to Hastings, Nebraska where he was a salesman for Kitty Clover until he retired in 1984. Jack and Dorothy moved to Good Samaritan Village shortly after his retirement, where they were active volunteers in several areas in the village.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; two sons; Steven D. of Albuquerque and Robert B. of Hildreth; one brother, Chester Largent; one sister, Bernice Hickerson.
