Paul Rauterkus

April 26, 1919 — September 14, 2004

Hastings resident, Paul J. Rauterkus, 85, of 710 Circle B, Good Samaritan Village, died Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at Mary Lanning Hospital, Hastings, Nebraska.

Rosary service will be Thursday, September 16, 2004; 7:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 17, 2004; 10:30 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church with Father James Meysenburg officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Mr. Rauterkus was born April 26, 1919 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Joseph C. & Mary (Howarth) Rauterkus. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School, Council Bluffs, Iowa and attended Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska. He served in the United States Army during WWII from May 25, 1944 to April 29, 1946. On June 8, 1946, he married Jeanne Lennon in council Bluffs, Iowa. They moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 1950. He was a sales representative for McKesson Drug Company for 39 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, American Legion and the Elks.

Mr. Rauterkus was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers & 4 sisters.

Memorial may be given to Hastings Catholic Schools Trust

Thur. 9-16-04; 9am-9pm
Wed. 9-17-04; 1 hr. prior to service at the church
