Paul Schultz

York resident, Paul A. Schultz, 65, passed away Friday, August 23, 2013 at Bryan Medical Center East, Lincoln, Nebraska surrounded by his family.

Rosary will be Friday, August 30, 2013; 7:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings. Family graveside services will be Saturday, August 31, 2013; 8:30 A.M. at Greenwood Cemetery in Trumbull. Mass of Christian burial will follow the graveside services at 10:00 A.M. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Doniphan with Father Joseph Faulkner officiating. Husker attire is encouraged for the service. Memorials may be given to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 7 at 3901 N. 70th St., Box 29311, Lincoln, NE 68529. Paul had chosen cremation; there will be no viewing or visitation.

Paul was born November 19, 1947 to Cleo & Elva (Herzog) Schultz in Hastings, Nebraska. He grew up in Trumbull, Nebraska and graduated from Trumbull High School in 1966. In 1967 he joined the Army National Guard and served until 1973. On June 14, 1969 he married Teri Strotman in Aurora, Nebraska. They lived and farmed in Trumbull, Nebraska until 1994, when they moved to York, Nebraska. In York, Paul was a truck driver until he retired earlier this year. He was a member of Saint Josephs Catholic Church in York, Lincoln DAV Chapter 7 and the Knights of Columbus - 3rd degree. Paul was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His caring guidance and friendship were a constant source of comfort and strength to all who knew him. His greatest joy came from attending his grandchildren's activities and he was very proud of each of them. He was also an avid Husker fan, no matter the sport, though he did also cheer for his nephew who plays football for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Richard; and one sister, Karen.
