Pauline Brouillette

Hastings resident, Pauline Lillie (Stoughton) Brouillette, 89, left this "heavenly earth" for heaven, as she described her life to be with our Lord on Monday, November 15, 2010 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Friday, November 19, 2010; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday, November 18, 2010; 1:00 P.M. -9:00 P.M. with family present from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and 1 hour prior to service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family's choice.

Pauline was born December 1, 1920 in Bladen, Nebraska to Thomas Wesley & Anna Mae (Tucker) Stoughton. She graduated from Bladen High School, and taught school there for a short time. Shortly after this time she met Donald L. Brouillette of Campbell. They were later married in St. Paul, Minnesota. Donald preceded her in death on March 10, 1994. After a short time they moved back to Campbell and then to Hastings. To this union, two sons were born; Monte in 1944 and Gary in 1948. The family followed construction to Culbertson before moving to Alma for the rest of their married life. During their married life they partnered in operating several businesses, The Reno Bar in Hastings, Don's Place in Alma, and their last venture, Don's Men's Clothing, also in Alma. Pauline was a kind and caring person who enjoyed her work with her husband. She also enjoyed nature at its best and on the hottest days of the year she could be seen hanging clothes or digging in their garden. She also loved to cook for the extended family and "Grandma's White Cake" with her special frosting was a secret she never revealed. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Hastings.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald L. Brouillette; one sister; and one brother.
