Hastings resident Peggy K. Spicknall, 83, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Grand Island Lakeview Care Center, Grand Island, NE.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 22, at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. The burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 22, at the Roseland Cemetery in Roseland. The family requests casual attire be worn to the service in honor of Peggy. Visitation will be 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, at the funeral home, and one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Peggy was born October 31, 1940, in Lexington, NE to T.M. “Bushy” and Grace (Shanholts) German. She graduated from Cozad High School and received her Associate's Degree in Nursing from Kearney State College. Peggy married Jerald Spicknall on August 9, 1964; he preceded her in death on April 25, 2008.
Peggy worked as an LPN for the Franklin Nursing Home. She was a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerald Spicknall; son and spouse, William & Susan Spicknall; sister, Dixie Oltman; and brother, Clyde German.
