Philbert Heuertz

November 11, 1930 — October 23, 1950

Holstein resident, Philbert C. 'Phil' Heuertz, 74, of 9435 S. Brown, died Sunday, January 2, 2005 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Rosary will be Wednesday, January 5, 2005; 7:30 P.M. at Assumption Catholic Church, rural Roseland, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, January 6, 2005; 10:00 A.M. at Assumption Catholic Church, with Father Thomas Au officiating. Burial will be in Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska at 2:30 P.M.

Mr. Heuertz was born, November 11, 1930 in Juniata, Nebraska to Alois & Leona (Gentert) Heuertz. He graduated from Roseland High School in 1948. He joined the United States Navy, serving during the Korean War, Vietnam War and various duty stations from October 23,1950, until he retired as a Yeoman Senior Chief at Pensacola, Florida on August 19, 1975. On November 3, 1954, he married Mary Ann Hupf at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Roseland, Nebraska. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, Council #10155 Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart/Assumption, Assembly #0608 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and USS Delta Association. He was a past member of Assumption Parish Council, a former acolyte at Assumption Catholic Church and a past member of Central Nebraska Senior Golf Association.

Mr. Heuertz was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Heuertz.
