Hastings resident, Philip Gudgel, 35, of 610 West F Street, Hastings, Nebraska died Monday, March 14, 2005 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, Nebraska.
Services will be Thursday, March 17, 2005; 11:00 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Dan Heuer officiating. Burial will be in Concordia Cemetery near Juniata, Nebraska.
Mr. Gudgel was born January 4, 1970 in Jefferson City, Missouri to Rev. Richard and Bonnie (Hesterberg) Gudgel. He was baptized, January 18, 1970 at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Jefferson City, Missouri. His family moved to rural Juniata, Nebraska in 1975. In 1985, he became a resident at Mid-Nebraska Individual Services. He was a member of Christ Lutheran, Juniata, Nebraska and confirmed his faith in Christ, April 26, 1987. He became a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Omaha, Nebraska when his father was assigned as pastor in 1990. He attended Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and Zion Lutheran Church in Hastings, Nebraska and graduated with a special diploma in 1991 from Hastings High School. He enjoyed the outdoors, playing Uno, attending Handicamp at Camp Luther, being with his family & friends and his cat, Shemp. In his 35 years , Philip touched the hearts of many people.
Mr. Gudgel was preceded in death by three grandparents.
