Phyllis Erickson

Former Hastings resident Phyllis J. Erickson, 83, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019, at Harvard Rest Haven, Harvard, NE.

Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Pastor Thomas Murray officiating. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, at Friedwall Lutheran Cemetery in Hordville, NE. Visitation is one hour prior to service with family present at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.

Phyllis was born June 26, 1936, in Oxford, NE to Horace & Lorene (Eggers) Egelston. She graduated from Alma High School and received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Hastings College and Mary Lanning School of Nursing (Creighton University at Mary Lanning Healthcare). Phyllis married Dennis V. Erickson on August 30, 1959, in Alma, NE.

Phyllis worked as a registered nurse for Dr. Weber at Mary Lanning and Hastings Regional Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents.
