Randl Rogers

August 19, 1948 — January 5, 2009

Hastings resident, Randl Jay Rogers, 60, of 721 South Colorado, died Monday, January 5, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Services will be Friday, January 9, 2009; 10:30 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Carl H. Rehwaldt officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 7, 2009; 5PM-9PM, Thursday, January 8, 2009; 9AM-9PM with family present from 7PM-9PM and Friday, January 9, 2009, 9AM until service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family.

Mr. Rogers was born August 19, 1948 in Superior, Nebraska to Bud & Dorthea (Hornbussel) Rogers. He attended Superior High School and Central Community College, Hastings in drafting and horticulture. On July 8, 1967, he married Leona Rumsey. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from May 29, 1968 until June 10, 1970 and was a member of the National Guard for 18 years. He was a life member of the V.F.W. as well as a carpenter for Westland Homes. Randl requested casual dress or jeans and Nebraska shirts for the funeral. He will be greatly missed by all.

Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Leann Emal.
