Randy D. Tjarks

Randy D. Tjarks of Edgar, 70, departed this life on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE.    

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, at Church of the Plains Presbyterian in Edgar with Pastor Jonathan Jehorek officiating. Burial will be at Edgar Cemetery in Edgar. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. with family present 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 10, at the funeral home, and one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Randy was born in Hastings, NE on July 11, 1953, to Delmar and Ila (Henninger) Tjarks. He graduated from Sandy Creek High School in May 1971. He married Sherry Coxbill on July 14, 1973. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Douglas, Michael, and Jennifer. Randy farmed with his in-laws, Duane and Verna Coxbill, until they retired. Then Randy worked for 22 years for Aurora COOP at the Edgar’s Sedan branch. 

Randy was preceded in death by his father; in-laws, Duane & Verna Coxbill; sister-in-law, Betsy Tjarks; brother-in-law, Kenny Adams; and son-in-law, K.B. Volz.
