Hastings resident, Ray W. Douglas, 93, of Perkins Pavilion, died Monday, January 16, 2006 at Perkins Pavilion.
Services will be Wednesday, January 18, 2006; 10:30 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Jim Miller officiating. Burial with military rites will be Wednesday, January 18, 2006; 2:30 P.M. at Highland Park Cemetery, Ravenna, Nebraska.
Mr. Douglas was born October 13, 1912 in Litchfield, Nebraska to Fred & Gertie (Duncan) Douglas. He graduated from Ravenna High School, Ravenna, Nebraska and on March 26, 1943, he married Marian M. Struble in Grand Island, Nebraska. He served in the United States Army during WWII from 1942 until 1945. He worked for Stan Roy Feed & Supply and the Ravenna Egg Plant both in Ravenna. He moved from Ravenna to Hastings, Nebraska in 1969 and was a custodian at Hastings Elementary Schools. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Hastings and the American Legion Club in Ravenna, Nebraska.
Mr. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, 2 daughters, Verda Douglas & Raelene Wiese and a brother, Henry Douglas.
