Ray Gaymon

December 24, 1917 — April 28, 2008

Hastings resident, Ray E. Gaymon, 90, Perkins Pavilion, died Monday, April 28, 2008 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Village.

Memorial services with Masonic Rites will be Thursday, May 1, 2008; 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Alan Davis officiating. Private family burial with military rites will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Trumbull, Nebraska. Book signing will be Wednesday, April 30, 2008; 1PM-9Pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Tehama Temple Hospital Patient Transportation Fund or First United Methodist Church.

Mr. Gaymon was born December 24, 1917 in Adams County, Nebraska to Guy & Lula (Rader) Gaymon. He graduated from Trumbull High School, Trumbull, Nebraska and married Guinivere 'Gwen' Strickler on June 7, 1941. He served in the United States Navy during WWII from September 1942 until November 1945. Following his discharge, they lived in the Trumbull area, farming the family farm, until moving into Hastings in 1962. He then worked at Farmland Industries until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, numerous Masonic bodies including: Midwest Lodge #317, Scottish Rite, York Rite, Hastings Council #8 Cryptic Masons of Nebraska, Mt. Nebo Commandry #11 Knights Templar of Nebraska, Knight York Cross of Honour, Harold Hartzell Thom Council #121, Tehama Temple and served on the Masonic Temple Association for a number of years.

Mr. Gaymon was preceded in death by his parents; Guy & Lula Gaymon; brother, Leland; wife, Gwen; daughter, Rosalee Elaine; and one granddaughter.
