Hastings resident, Ray Hendrickson, 86, of 529 Lane 'B' Good Samaritan Village, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

There will be no services, the remains were cremated. Interment at Blue Hill Cemetery, Blue Hill, Nebraska at a later date.

Mr. Hendrickson was born March 15, 1919 in Blue Hill, Nebraska to Ernest R. & Edith Ann (Scott) Hendrickson. He graduated from Bladen High School, Bladen, Nebraska in 1937. On March 15, 1939, he married Edith M. Potts. He served in the United States 8th Army during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific Theater, stationed in Japan. He was a Staff Sergeant with the 71st Headquarters Supply Quarter Masters Company. After his discharge, he farmed in Idaho and in Nebraska for 35 years. He also worked at Hastings Regional Center for 21 years, was the Administrator at Westgate Manor, Blue Hill, Nebraska for 17 years and the Elk Creek Manor in Nelson, Nebraska for 5 years, retiring in 1982. He was a life long Bladen, Blue Hill area resident except for 6 years in Idaho. He was a life member of Blue Hill Legion 50+ years and Hastings V.F.W. 40+ years.

Mr. Hendrickson was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Mike Hendrickson in 2000.
