Raymond Lind

July 29, 1925 — June 27, 2014

Raymond Lind passed away on June 27, 2014 in Hastings, Nebraska. He was born in Mitchell, Nebraska on July 29, 1925 to Bill and Effie Lind. He attended Sunny Slope Grade School, a country school outside of Mitchell and graduated from Morrill High School in 1943. He served in the military beginning in July of 1945 through December, 1946 and was assigned to the Adjutant General's office in Fort Dix, New Jersey. Raymond then joined First National Bank in Morrill. In 1949, Raymond began farming south of Lyman, Nebraska. He married Mary Louise (Ike) Lippincott in 1948. They retired from farming in 1992 and moved to Scottsbluff and later to Hastings to be closer to their family.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Mary of 66-years, children, Steven (Diana), Kearney; daughters Beth (Ron) Ganer, Omaha; Judy (Martin) Hoch, Hastings; grandchildren Lindsey (Sam) Reznicek, Grand Forks, North Dakota; Jeff Hoch, Omaha; and Zachery and Tyler Lind, Kearney, and two great- granddaughters, Allison and Claire Reznicek. He is survived by brothers, Riney of Rapid City, South Dakota, Jim of Torrington, Wyoming, Don of Denver, Colorado, Wayne of Maricopa, Arizona and sister, Helen VanWyngarden of Denver, Colorado.

Raymond was an active member of the Nebraska Sugar Beet Growers Association serving as president for five years. He also was a member of the American Legion Post #10 of Morrill, Nebraska and First United Methodist Church of Scottsbluff along with many other organizations.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and six brothers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be given to The Farm and Ranch Museum of Gering, Nebraska or the donor's choice. A Celebration of Life Service and reception will be held later this summer in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Book signing will be Tuesday, July 1, 2014, Wednesday, July 2, 2014, and Thursday, July 3, 2014 from 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home.
