Raymond Pope

Former Hastings resident, Raymond W. Pope, 92, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Tabitha Health Care Services, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Services will be Monday, August 18, 2008; 11:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel, Hastings, Nebraska with Rev. Alan Davis officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the family. Visitation will be Sunday, August 17, 2008; 1:00 P.M. -9:00 P.M. and Monday, August 18, 2008; 9:00 A.M. until service time.

Raymond was born May 23, 1916 on a farm near Sutton, Nebraska to Adam and Minnie (Sterkel) Pope. He farmed all his life south of Sutton. He retired in 1979 and moved to Hastings, Nebraska. In 2007, he moved to Lincoln, due to health reasons.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy, brother, Marvin Pope; sister, Hilda Joyce; brothers-in-law, Martin Joyce & Lawrence Yost and a grandson, Eric Pope.
