R. "Don" Treat

Doniphan resident R. Donald “Don” Treat, 84, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018, at Tiffany Square Rehabilitation and Care Center, Grand Island, NE.

Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 19, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Doniphan with Rev. Daniel Bremer officiating. Burial with military rites by Doniphan American Legion Post 300 will be in Cedarview Cemetery in Doniphan. Memorials may be given to LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry. Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Don was born December 2, 1933, in Doniphan, NE to Harlo & Mildred (Perky) Treat. He graduated from Doniphan High School. Don served in the U.S. Marines from May 20, 1953, to May 19, 1956. He married Arvilla E. Toben on May 5, 1957; she preceded him in death on September 5, 1999.

Don was a farmer in the area for many years and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and American Legion in Doniphan. He loved farming and woodworking. Don enjoyed spending the winters in Arizona.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Arvilla E. Treat; and two brothers, Richard Treat and Gary Treat.
