Former Hastings resident, Irene G. Alleman, 94, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Good Samaritan Village in Wood River, Nebraska.

Services will be Friday, March 26, 2010; 11:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel, Hastings with Rev. Jack Sample. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service at funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the donor's choice.

Irene was born June 21, 1915 in Bladen, Nebraska to Leeander Smith Miller, Jr. & Lillian (Nissen) Miller. She graduated from Bladen High School in 1934 and married LeRoy V. Alleman in Loup City, Nebraska on February 16, 1941. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1999. She attended Kearney State College and received her degree as an LPN in 1969 at the age of 54. They moved to Broken Bow, Nebraska and worked at the Broken Bow Hospital. In 1969, they moved to Hastings and she worked for Dr. Don Foote Jr., and then went on to work for Good Samaritan Village until retiring in 1985. She moved to Grand Island in 2003 and lived at Lebensraum Assisted Living. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Women's Circle, and was a past member of the LPN organization.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LeRoy V. Alleman; two brothers, Harold Miller & Irvin "Bud" Miller; sister, Loretta Zwink; son-in-law, Eldon Nowka; sisters-in-law, Frieda Cook & Melzie Miller; and brother-in-law, Ivan Zwink.

Survivors include:
Daughter: Carol Nowka - Grand Island, NE
Son & Daughter-in-law: Daryl & Penny Alleman - Carbondale, CO
Many Nieces & Nephews.
