Renee J. Amick

Doniphan resident Reneé J. Amick, 94, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Prairie Winds Assisted Living, Doniphan, NE. 

Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, at Minden Cemetery in Minden. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. with the family present 5-7 p.m. Monday, August 5, at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Doniphan Quick Response Team or the Minden Fire & Rescue. 

Reneé was born April 4, 1930, in Minden, NE to Charles R. and Victoria M. (Johnson) Youngson. She grew up on the family farm in Norman, NE, and graduated from Minden High School in 1948. Reneé attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she was a member of the Tri-Delta Sorority. She married Carl R. Amick on October 12, 1950; he preceded her in death on August 1, 2007.

Reneé resided at home west of Doniphan. She worked with her husband in the cattle and ranch business for over 50 years. Reneé helped to develop the Amick Acres lakeside residential housing area west of Doniphan. She enjoyed crocheting, painting, gardening, and playing Pitch.

A special thanks to the staff and caregivers of Prairie Winds Assisted Living and Tabitha in Doniphan for their kind care during this last year. 

Reneé was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl R. Amick; daughter, Sonja; and brother, Charles W. Youngson.
