Renee Lynn (Conner) Hoglund

Hastings resident Renee Lynn (Conner) Hoglund, 69, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024, suddenly and unexpectedly at home in Hastings, NE. 

A celebration of life will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, December 14, at Southern Hills Golf Course. Come for a bit or stay for a while. Private family interment will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to TeamMates Mentoring Program of Hastings. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.lbvfh.com. Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is serving the family. 

Renee was born on November 2, 1955, in Fullerton, NE to Robert and Marjorie (Wilson) Conner. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1974. Renee married David Hoglund on May 29, 1976, also in Hastings, NE where they then continued to be lifelong residents. 

Renee worked various jobs after high school followed by a career of longevity at Hastings College. She then finished her working years at Oakeson Steiner Wealth and Retirement. During these last several years of retirement, Renee has traveled many miles to the East and the West to be present in the lives of her children and grandchildren as their biggest fan and supporter. Everyone gathered together at their home in Hastings was her ultimate joy. She also greatly enjoyed time with their close friend group who they spent an incredible amount of time with. She was a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. 

Renee’s greatest joy was her family, and she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She brought warmth and kindness to all who knew her, cultivating a legacy of love and generosity that will be cherished for generations and carried on by her family. Renee’s family extends their deepest gratitude to all who have offered support during this difficult time. 

Renee was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marjorie Conner, and her father-in-law, Bud Hoglund.
