(Ret.) Anderson Sr

Former Hastings resident, (Ret.) Major Orin B. Anderson Sr., 66, of Lincoln, Nebraska died Friday, October 28, 2005 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, Nebraska.

Memorial service will be Monday, October 31, 2005; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel, Hastings, Nebraska with Rev. Michael McMurtry , Rev. Dr. Sam Rathod, Rev. Tony Anderson and Rev. Michael Davis officiating. Memorial service will also be Tuesday, November 1, 2005: 2:00 P.M. at Grace United Methodist Church, Lincoln, Nebraska with Rev. Michael McMurtry, Rev. Michael Davis and Rev. Dr. Wayne Reynolds officiating. There will be a private family interment at a later date. No viewing or visitation.

(Ret.) Major Anderson was born November 21, 1938 in Mitchell County, Georgia to Ernest & Isabelle (Gaines) Anderson. He graduated from Hastings High School and on May 2, 1959, he married Rosalie N. Smith. He retired as a Major from the United States Army after 20 years, where he was stationed at Fort Riley Kansas, Viet Nam, Fort Huachuca Arizona, Fort Ord California, Fort Benning Georgia, Schofield Barracks Hawaii, Korea and in France. He graduated from the University of Nebraska Omaha with a BS in Criminal Justice. He retired from the Postal Service where he had been Postmaster in Alda, Nebraska. He then moved to Lincoln, Nebraska. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Lincoln, Nebraska.

(Ret.) Major Anderson was preceded in death by his parents.
