Rex L. Weseman, 88, of Juniata, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at his home.
Graveside service with military rites by the Juniata Military Honor Guard will be Saturday, August 5, 2017; 10:00 A.M. at the Juniata Cemetery, Juniata, Nebraska with Chaplain John Mueller officiating. Visitation will be Friday, August 4, 2017; 3:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in remembrance of Rex L. Weseman to the Juniata Cemetery.
Rex was born March 2, 1929 to Emanuel & Lola (Godding) Weseman in Juniata, Nebraska. He graduated from Juniata Public School in 1947. He served in the US Army as part of the 3rd Armored Division from 1950-1953. After returning home from the service, he farmed in the Juniata area until retiring in 1999. He married Maxine VonKampen in Hastings on September 7, 1952. Together they had two children, Stephanie & Creighton.
Rex is survived by his wife, Maxine; daughter, Stephanie and husband, Gary Walther of Juniata; son, Creighton Weseman of Juniata; grandchildren, Kevin Walther of Farragut, Iowa, Major Eric Walther and wife, Amy of Kailua, Hawaii, Marc Walther and wife, Heather of Hastings, Angie Weseman of San Angelo, Texas, and Jason Weseman of Grand Island; and great grandchildren, Kennedy, Trevor, Aiden, Dammeon, Derrion, and Ashton Walther.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters, and five brothers.
