February 24, 1958 — June 15, 2012

Juniata resident, Rhoda Ann House, 54, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney, Nebraska from complications due to cancer.

Memorial services will be Monday, June 25, 2012; 1:00 P.M. at Zion Lutheran Church, Dallas, Texas with Rev. Dr. Robert Preece officiating. Burial will be in Winchester, Texas. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to Christ Lutheran School, Juniata, Nebraska Building Expansion Fund or LCMS World Mission. An additional memorial service will be held at a later date at Christ Lutheran Church, Juniata, Nebraska. Flowers can be sent to McShan Florist, Dallas, Texas 214-324-2481.

Rhoda was born February 24, 1958 in Bismarck, North Dakota to Rev. Adolph & Inez (Schultz) Brand. After high school graduation she received her college degrees from Concordia Teachers College, Seward, Nebraska, and Concordia Lutheran College in Austin, Texas. Rhoda married James House of Port Arthur, Texas on June 28, 1980 in Denison, Iowa. She was an early childhood director and teacher serving various congregations of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, and Texas. Rhoda was a member of Christ Lutheran Church-Juniata, Lutheran Education Association, and National Association for the Education of Young Children. She enjoyed quilting, cross-stitching, and reading.

Rhoda was preceded in death by her father and brother Timothy.
