Hastings resident Rhonda Ann Sanford, 60, passed away Monday, April 24, 2023, at her home.  

 

Memorial Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 28, at First Presbyterian Church in Hastings with Rev. Greg Allen-Pickett officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. There will be no viewing or visitation as Rhonda was cremated. A book signing will be 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or First Presbyterian Church. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Rhonda A. Sanford was born September 1, 1962 to Louis E. and Barbara (Priel) Sanford in Hastings, NE.  Rhonda attended school in Hastings, NE and made many friends.  She lived with various people throughout her life until she moved in with her cousins, Kris and Sue Horton who cared for her until death.  She was a part of Opportunity House and Goodwill Industries Day services for developmentally challenged persons. She loved to compliment others and was always grateful for any acts of kindness shown towards her.  She was baptized at First Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church.  She attended First Presbyterian Church with her cousins. She loved her hot wheels cars, coloring, and stickers. She also had a deep love for animals (and loved the Zoo!) and her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her aunts and uncles.  She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Rachelle and Rod Walker and their son, Eric Walker.  She is also survived by uncle and aunt, Bob and Bonnie Priel, her aunt Doris Sanford, and her uncle, Willis Horton.  Her guardian, Sue Horton, and caretaker, Kris Horton also survive her. She is survived by many cousins and extended family and friends.
