Former Hastings resident, Rhonda Sue (Scribner) Watson, 53, died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at her home in Broomfield, Colorado.

Graveside Services will be Wednesday, May 11, 2016; 1:00 P.M. in Broomfield, Colorado. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 11, 2016; 9:00 A.M. - 9:30 A.M. for immediate family, 9:30 A.M. - Noon for all others. DeWitt and Tabler Funeral Home in Thornton, Colorado are in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Broomfield County Commons Cemetery in Broomfield, Colorado. Memorial Service will be held in Hastings on Saturday, May 14, 2016; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings, Nebraska with Pastor Dale Phillips officiating. Reception will follow the service. Memorials may be given to the family.

Rhonda Sue (Scribner) Watson was born June 24, 1962 in Hastings, Nebraska to Bobby Lee and Marlyn Jane (Butterbaugh) Scribner. She was baptized in the Church of the Nazarene. She attended Longfellow Elementary School in Hastings, Wasmer Elementary in Grand Island, Nebraska, Hastings Junior High, and graduated from Hastings Senior High in 1980. She attended University of Nebraska Lincoln and Hastings College. It was while she was attending Hastings College that she met the love of her life, Perry Watson. She and Perry were married July 19, 1985 in Littleton, Colorado. She moved to Denver, Colorado in 1984, worked at Denver University until starting her family. After her children were older she returned to work at various positions, most recently for Department of Health and Human Services of Broomfield County for over 10 years. Rhonda always enjoyed reading in her free time, never losing the enjoyment of learning. She also enjoyed many hours of music appreciation with her spouse. A devoted wife and mother, the focus and highlight of her life was her family.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Scribner; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Shirley and Ellis Watson; and her grandparents.
