Hastings resident, Richard H. "Dick" Bornemeier, 90, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the Nebraska Veterans Home, Grand Island, Nebraska.
Requiem Eucharist will be Tuesday, June 4, 2013; 2:00 P.M. at Saint Mark's Episcopal Pro-Cathedral, Hastings, Nebraska with Dean Catherine F. Scott officiating. Burial will be in Saint Mark's Columbarium, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the Hastings Public Library.
Dick was born March 4, 1923 in Alvo, Nebraska to Herman L. and Clare A. (Ostertag) Bornemeier. He grew up on the family farm in Cass County. A veteran of WWII, Dick served in the Navy as a signalman in the Pacific from 1943 to 1946. Following discharge he graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His life career was as an Independent Insurance Agent, he retired after 41 years serving the Hastings Community. Nita and Dick celebrated 60 years of marriage in 2012.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Russell Bornemeier and his brother-in-law Earl Bosse.
