Richard Gangwish

Hastings resident, Richard N. 'Dick' Gangwish, 60, died Saturday, May 2, 2009 at his home.

Services will be Friday, May 8, 2009; 10:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Pastor Tom Murray officiating. Burial will be in the Juniata Cemetery, Juniata, Nebraska. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 6, 2009; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. and Thursday, May 7, 2009; 9:00 A.M.- 9:00 P.M. and Friday, May 8, 2009; 1 hour prior to service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Dick Gangwish Memorial Fund.

Dick was born June 3, 1948 in McMinnville, Oregon to Howard 'Shorty' & Doris (Wiltrout) Gangwish. He graduated from Juniata High School in 1966 and attended Kearney State College and also the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. On June 7, 1966, he married Carol 'Kati' Beach. They resided in Juniata, where Dick was a legion baseball coach and was employed many years by the Juniata Co-op/Cenex Station. Dick moved to Hastings in 2001 and was employed at Hastings HVAC until the time of his death. He was a member of the Eagles club and enjoyed puzzles, trivia games, softball and golf.

Dick was preceded in death by his father; Howard 'Shorty' Gangwish and a sister, Sue Nemeth.
