Richard II

Hastings resident, Richard M. Goehring II, 70, of 1607 W. 7th, died Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Masonic Rites will be Sunday, September 12, 2004; 7:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Requiem Eucharist will be Monday, September 13, 2004; 11:00 A.M. at Saint Mark's Episcopal Pro-Cathedral with The Very Rev. Richard J. Martindale officiating. Private family interment at a later date.

Mr. Goehring was born January 24, 1934 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Richard M. & May (Bergholtz) Goehring, Sr. He moved with his family to Hastings, Nebraska in 1948 and graduated from Hastings High School in 1951. He attended Hastings College. On May 2, 1954, he married Sharon R. Knox at Saint Mark's Episcopal Church in Hastings, Nebraska. He worked for J. M. McDonald's for 30 years as audio-visual print manager and retired from Great Plains Packaging as the creative art director. He was a member of Saint Mark's Episcopal Church, was an Assistant Superintendent and taught at Saint Mark's Church School. He was also a member and past Master of Mid- West Lodge #317 A.F. & A.M., and the Elks Club. He was a past member of DeMolay where he served on the Advisory Board, past Associate Guardian of Jobs Daughters Bethel #8, Hastings Archery Club, Hastings Jaycees, past officer of Tiger Booster Club, Southern Hills Golf Course and the Eagles Club.

Mr. Goehring was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Sarah Uhrmacher.
