Richard Kieffe

Gretna resident, Richard S. "Dick" Kieffe, 54, formerly of Hastings, Nebraska died Monday, April 27, 2009 in Gretna, Nebraska.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 1, 2009; 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to Gena Sahling Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Kenesaw Public Schools, Kenesaw, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday, April 30, 2009 from 1pm - 9pm with family present from 6pm - 9pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to service at the church on Friday.

Mr. Kieffe was born March 31, 1955 in Hastings, Nebraska to Hugh & Eileen (Horton) Kieffe. He graduated from St. Cecilia's Catholic High School in 1973. He received his Bachelors Degree in accounting from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1978. On May 18, 1991, he married Jennifer Belgram in Grand Island, Nebraska. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Gretna, Nebraska. Mr. Kieffe was an entrepreneur and a passionate salesman. He was viewed as a spiritual and introspective person. He was an adoring husband, gentle father, loving brother and uncle, and a loyal friend. Dick found peace in nature, the mountains, and on the Oregon coast. He will forever be remembered for his honesty melded with sharp wit and sense of humor.

Mr. Kieffe was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Kieffe.
