Richard Kober, Jr

Hastings resident, Richard C. Kober, Jr., 84, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at his home.

Rosary will be Sunday, May 10, 2015; 6:30 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, May 11, 2015; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church with Father Joseph M. Walsh officiating and Deacon Ryan Salisbury assisting. Burial with military rites by Hastings Veterans Organizations will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to St. Gregory The Great Seminary, Seward, Nebraska. Visitation will be Sunday, May 10, 2015; 3:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to service at the church.

Richard was born November 27, 1930 in Hastings, Nebraska to Richard C. Kober, Sr. & Mary (Menard) Kober. He graduated from St. Cecilia's High School in 1948. Richard served in the U.S. Marine Corps from September 18, 1951 until September 17, 1953. Richard married Gertrude Hemberger on April 17, 1952 at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church. He was a truck driver for CMF and was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Third Degree.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tom Kober; daughter, Shari Kober; son-in-law, Terry Salisbury; and brother, Don Kober.
