Juniata resident, Richard Fredrick Kuhlman, 62, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at his shop in Juniata.
Services will be Saturday, February 16, 2008; 10:30 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church, 13175 West 70th Street, rural Juniata with Pastor Greg Volzke officiating. Graveside service with military rites will be Monday, February 18, 2008; 11:00 A.M. CST at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, 12004 South Spur 56A, Maxwell, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday, February 14, 2008; 5 P.M.-9 P.M. and Friday, February 15, 2008; 9 A.M.-9 P.M. at the funeral home & Saturday, February 16, 2008; 1 hr. prior to service at the church. Richard was born September 18, 1945 in Hastings, Nebraska to William & Myrtle (Marquardt) Kuhlman. He grew up on a farm near Campbell, Nebraska, where he also attended high school. Richard served in the Vietnam War from February 1966 to December 1967 and was honorably discharged. Richard married Kaylene (Sack) on January 20, 1968 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Blue Hill, Nebraska. Upon graduating from Central Community College on September 29, 1971 with a degree in Automotive Technology, he built and operated Kuhlman Repair and Irrigation in Juniata.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; Billy, Orville, LeRoy and Larry Kuhlman and one sister, Genelle Carrico.
