Richard Lundquist

Hastings resident, Richard L. Lundquist, 61, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2015 at University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska.

Services will be Thursday, February 19, 2015; 2:00 P.M. at Faith Lutheran Church, Hastings with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to Nebraska Rod & Custom Association Scholarship Fund or Faith Lutheran Church (Scholarship Fund).

Richard was born September 2, 1953 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Homer & JoAnn (Aman) Lundquist. He graduated from Campbell High School in 1971. Richard married Betty Bjugstad on May 5, 1984. He started his career at Stan Allen Motors in Aurora, moved to Hastings in 1981 and worked for Paul Spady Motors until his retirement in 2006. Richard was honored with the Buick Service Masters Award in 1991 and 1992 for one of the top 20 Buick Service Technicians in USA. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Vintage & Classic Wheels of Grand Island, Nebraska Rod & Custom Association, and Melon Roasters of Hastings. Richard's passion was cars and loved going to car shows and talking to people about cars. He always had a positive attitude.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David; and grandparents, Harold & Elizabeth Aman and Eva & Oscar Lundquist, Sr.
