Bruce was born June 19, 1945, in New Bern, NC, to Wayne and Bernice Mooers. He graduated from North High School in Des Moines, IA. Bruce served in the U.S. Army from August 29, 1966 – August 19, 1969. He married Cheryl A. “Cherrie” Fleming on June 25, 1970; she preceded him in death on July 29, 2018.
In 1984, Bruce and Cherrie founded Electronic Systems. They operated the business together for 35 years. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree. Bruce enjoyed people. He made a friend wherever he went. He had an infectious smile and often said things to make others laugh and smile. Bruce and Cherrie were incredible dancers. Any chance they had, they were on the dance floor. Golfing was another one of Bruce’s hobbies. He enjoyed the time on the course and the time with his family and friends. Bruce also loved playing bridge with his special friend and companion, Sharon Petersen. They enjoyed going to the movies, having dinner together, and traveling.
Bruce was a family man. He truly loved his people hard. Not many people can say they actually lived until they died. He was one of the lucky ones! He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Cheryl A. “Cherrie” Mooers; daughter, Theresa Marie; brother & sister-in-law, Steve & Lila Mooers; and brother & sister-in-law, Don & Donna Nispel.
