Richard Rowbal

Hastings resident, Richard D. "Cajun" Rowbal, 61, of 1618 West 'D' Street, passed away Friday, July 24, 2009 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Memorial service will be Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Zion Lutheran Church in Hastings, Nebraska with Pastor Greg Volzke officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 28, 2009; 9:00 A.M.-9:00 P.M. at the funeral home, with the family present from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday, July 29, 2009, 1 hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be donated to Zion Lutheran Church.

Mr. Rowbal was born January 26, 1948 in Omaha, Nebraska to Richard F. & Vivian O. (Cummins) Rowbal. He graduated from Ord High School. On December 13, 1985, he was united in marriage to Terri E. Richardson at Zion Lutheran Church in Hastings, Nebraska. He was a Master plumber with his father at Rowbal Plumbing in Ord, Nebraska. He owned and operated Skid-Row pallets in Hastings. He drove a school bus for the following schools: Zion Lutheran, Adams Central and St. Cecilia's, before retiring due to illness. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, AA and NA.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.
