Richard Samson

November 20, 1946 — October 14, 2004

Harvard resident, Richard G. Samson, 57, of 904 N. Kearney Ave, died Thursday, October 14, 2004 at Nebraska Heart Institute, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Services will be Tuesday, October 19, 2004; 10:00 A.M. at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with Rev. Judith Allen officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Omaha, Nebraska.

Mr. Samson was born November 20, 1946 in Omaha, Nebraska to Harold & Bernice (Fuller) Samson. He graduated from Omaha South High School and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He received his BS from Peru State College, Peru, Nebraska and his MS from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. On September 25, 1982, he married Barbara J. Hannink. He worked for the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Oregon State University, Meat Animal Research Center, United States Department of Agriculture and part-time at Byco, in Hastings. He was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where he was an elder. He was an avid reader and loved his family, sailing, hiking and the outdoors.

Mr. Samson was preceded in death by his father.

Memorial may be given to Richard Samson Memorial Fund

VISITATION: Mon. 10-18-04; 9am-9pm with family present 6pm-8pm
Tue. 10-19-04; 1 hr. prior to service at the church
