Rita Shea

Hastings resident, Rita Rae Shea, 80, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Wednesday, December 23, 2015; 9:30 A.M. at Butler Volland chapel, memorial service will follow at 10:00 A.M. with Father Joseph M. Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or may be given to family's choice.

Rita was born January 9, 1935 to Bert & Ruth (Miles) Ryan in Ovid, Colorado. She later moved to Hastings and graduated from St. Cecilia High School in 1953. Rita married Collins Marble in 1954 and they later divorced. To this union, two children were born; Craig and Karen. On August 10, 1975, Rita married John P. Shea in Hastings. After graduation, Rita was a paralegal for Dunmire & Blessing law firm, which later became Dunmire, Fisher & Hastings, where she worked for 40-years. She retired in 2005 after working for Bank of Doniphan. Rita was a breast cancer survivor. She enjoyed playing with her bridge partners for the past 50-years, and enjoyed sports including her St. Louis Cardinals.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; Bert and Ruth Ryan: son-in-law, Jay Jacupke; and daughter-in law, Elizabeth Marble
